As regular readers of this blog will know, seven months ago we asked Lambeth a series of very straightforward questions about the £600k parking survey they have commissioned. Despite repeatedly asking, we haven’t received any answers from Officers and our Councillors have only been able to say that they are waiting for a briefing.
We therefore submitted a Freedom of Information request for details on what exactly they are doing, how they are doing it, when they are doing it, and what the action standards will be (see post from September 16th).
The Council legally had to reply by end of play yesterday but have not. This is a legal deadline.
The key question: is this evidence of gross incompetence or corruption (how is £600k signed off with no details or action standards, especially in an “era of austerity”. To note, there is a Vassall Ward survey from 2012, run by the Council, which clearly showed the issue of displaced parking. It is unclear what this new survey is going to bring.
We have now requested, via the Freedom of Information Act, that Lambeth conduct an internal review to investigate why they have broken the law and not replied to our questions.
